The reality of what we have allowed worship, to become have made this question a little tricky to answer.
For some of us, worship is an experience that makes us feel good.
We like churches with amazing worship bands—they make us feel good.
We like church to be entertaining and the sermon to be engaging—this makes us feel good.
*So I pause and ask myself, since when was worship about making me feel good?*
R.C. Sproul says, “As fallen creatures, it is one of our most basic and fundamental inclinations to worship something, or someone, other than the true GOD.”
Could it be that, sometimes, the thing we are drawn to worship apart from GOD is worship itself? The act of it as it takes place in our church services? The music, the dark lighting, the instruments playing behind the prayer? Is this what we crave more than GOD?
"Chisom Selina Kalu (Selina Kc) @ This Place of Worship, whilst re-echoing the WORDS OF GOD, succinctly puts it as follows:
' This people make a big show of A FLAWLESS PERFORMANCE BUT THEIR HEARTS AREN'T IN IT, IT'S PRETEND-WORSHIP, THEY DON'T MEAN IT. (She referred to the Book of Isaiah 29:13)
Their worship of ME is merely ENTERTAINMENT, _ NOTHING MORE THAN ONE WHO SINGS A VERY LOVELY SONG WITH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND PLAYS WELL ON AN INSTRUMENT. (She referred to the Book of Ezekiel 33:32
In her concluding remarks, she said TRUE WORSHIP must be in keeping with GOD'S NATURE! GOD IS SPIRIT AND HIS WORSHIPERS MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH. (She referred to the Book of John 4:23-24)".
In what we have called worship, the question that lies underneath is what do we really worship over the ALMIGHTY GOD?
Most of us like music. We like sitting and listening and singing and this is comfortable and easy. It is refreshing but *it is often more comforting than it is worshipping* .
The question that follows suit is: have I truly worshipped God, or have I simply worshipped an experience?
I may further need to ask and check again: what am I worshipping?
*What if instead of worshipping our Worship experience, we worshipped God?*
This Transfiguration of Worship experience (TOW 101) primarily seeks to draw the body of believers beyond simply singing to a more spiritual and life transforming communion with God.
It is our prayer that the body of believers will all come together to worship our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
It's the Dawn of The transfiguration of Worship. *Mark 9: 2 - 3; John 4: 23 - 24 _ A complete change of form/appearance/state of Worship into a more beautiful/spiritual state of Worship in Spirit and in Truth_* _ that sounds like Tautology right?
*LET THE WORSHIP OF GOD BECOME WHAT IT TRULY IS: GOD WORSHIP!!!*
